The web development process involves the:

Design Phase

  • Define the Concept

    • market research
  • Organize the Site
    • site map and navigation scheme
    • flowchart/storyboard
  • Establish Team Responsibilities
  • Brainstorm the Visual Design
    • colors, layout
  • Develop the Content

    • copyright/date

Production Phase

  • Draft a Layout
  • Prepare the Site
  • Create the Mockup
  • Test for Usability & Accessibility
  • Redefine the Mockup
  • Create the Content
  • Retest!

Distribution Phase

  • FTP
  • Check it Out!
  • Publicize

Maintanence Phase

  • Determine how often and what needs to be updated
  • Determine what and when new content is added
  • Check the Links (internal and external)
